Introduction
KAN – Kantipur Engineering College, affiliated to TU has been imparting engineering education since 1998. The objective is to produce qualified and proficient engineers capable of facing the Engineering challenges of this modern era, where science and technology is a dominant force in every aspect of our lives. At the time of its foundation, quality engineering education was revolutionary in Nepal, whereas today it is an important necessity for our students to compete globally and KAN remains at the forefront in the pursuit of excellence in engineering education. This year KAN marks the graduation of the thirty ninth batches of engineers across Civil, Computer and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
KAN boasts a highly selective and qualified set of educators in all our departments. Our faculties have accomplished much by using their qualifications to push research, applications and entrepreneurial ventures in their relative fields. This core of highly skilled educators, combined with KEC’s core commitment for excellence in education, ensures that our students will be given the best possible opportunity to achieve the skills required to succeed in their chosen profession with an outlook for the future.
Today Kantipur Engineering College is one of the oldest private engineering colleges and also one of the best engineering colleges of Nepal in terms of quality engineering education, peaceful and pollution free environment, own physical infrastructure, and international linkages.
Infrastructure
Kantipur Engineering College is located in a peaceful and pollution free environment far away from the loud, dusty bustle, yet within Lalitpur Metropolitan City. The college currently encompasses a spacious 37 ropanies of land. The college has two four-storied Academic Blocks (47000 sq. ft), one four-storied Laboratory Block (20,000 sq.ft), one three-storied Administration Block (4000 sq. ft) and one four-storied Project and Research Block (8000 sq.ft). Besides these, the college has two canteens and two Laboratory Sheds. For sports activities, the college has one multi-sport court for sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc. The college also has a practicing court for cricket.
Programs Offered
Kantipur Engineering College currently offers three programs that includes BE Civil, BE Computer and BE Electronics and Communication Engineering under the affiliation of TU. BE in Electrical Engineering and Bachelors in Architecture is in pipeline.

Faculty Strength
The college from the beginning believed in developing its own faculty strength. As a result of which, presently, the college has 115 full time faculty and staff. The college still hires few part-time faculty having experience and are expert in the related field.

Research Activity
Research, Training and Consultancy Division (RTCD) of KEC seeks to develop research knowledge, skills and attitude in the students and faculty members. In order to achieve this objective, the division works closely with both national and international universities, government agencies, NGOs, INGOs and consultancies to provide research and customized training solutions to students, faculty members and research scholars in areas of engineering and IT. Through the international linkages of KEC with more than 40 European and Asian universities, the faculty of KEC have conducted several researches and have published them in peer reviewed national and international journals. Faculty of KEC has been regularly presenting papers in different national and international seminars and conferences. Kantipur Engineering College is one of the partner organizers of Software, Knowledge, Information Management and Applications (SKIMA) conference which is organized annually by a partner university. KEC has successfully organized SKIMA conference in 2008 and 2015 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Through International Linkage, the college has also sent many students for undergraduate studies and faculty for Masters and PhDs in reputed Asian and European universities through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus projects like eLink, cLink, FUSION, SmartLink, etc.
Future Plan
The college is fully aware and committed to the development of further engineering programs in the future. Programs for running B.E. in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor in Architecture are in the pipeline. Furthermore, we constantly update our infrastructure, equipment and teaching methods in our current in our current subject offerings so that our students always remain competitive in the international and national platforms.
